Product Specification:

  • Made from compression molded glass-fiber reinforced plastic (GRP) for superior strength
  • 840lbs max. capacity when installed on 16″ o.c. joist systems, enough to support a wheelchair user and carer
  • Waffle underside ensures rigidity while being lightweight (approx. 70lbs)
  • Install on wooden joists (no need to notch, lower or alter joists), sub-floor, or concrete
  • Can be cut down to size on all sides using standard power tools (within 6″ of drain)
  • Extend size of pitch to comply with ADA regulations using TruePITCH Extension panels
  • 6¼” drain hole diameter
  • Rotate off-center drain hole to avoid conflicts between drain and any sub-floor obstructions
  • 4 pre-sloped gradient planes direct water flow towards drain
  • 2% per foot or greater gradient (varies due to length of pitch)
  • 7/8″ thick around perimeter
  • 1¾” wide leveling rim around perimeter with pre-bored, countersunk pilot holes
  • Finish with tile or stone (between ¼”-1″ thick) or commercial-grade weldable vinyl flooring

  • Covered by AKW limited lifetime warranty
  • You will need an ARC Waterproofing Kit and Classic Drain assembly

I lost the screws for my drain for tile. What sizes do I need?

All the screws that come with the drain for tile are stainless steel, and they are metric sizes and thread counts. These are available at many well-stocked hardware stores in their specialty fastener section (often you'll find an aisle with pull-out drawers, and inside the drawers are all kinds of unique fasteners). Here is the screw information:

1. For the four screws that fasten the adaptor to the foundation, you really can use flat head screws that fit, and they don't have to be metric. We recommend #6 or #8 x 3/4" long, flathead, wood threaded style screws in stainless steel or ceramic coated. Always drill pilot holes before driving these screws.

2. To secure the clamping ring, you'll need M4 x 0.7 x 16mm long stainless steel screws. These have to be metric and the proper size and threading to fit the threaded holes in the adaptor.
